Upon landing at Errachidia Airport, your adventure begins! You’ll be greeted by your guide and transferred to Merzouga, a small town nestled near the Sahara Desert. As you travel south, enjoy scenic views of palm groves and the breathtaking Ziz Valley. Once you arrive in Merzouga, check into your hotel and unwind from your journey. In the evening, enjoy a traditional Moroccan dinner at a local restaurant, followed by a short walk to the dunes to witness the enchanting sunset. Overnight in Merzouga.
Start the day with breakfast and then proceed for a voyage of excitement in the Merzouga Desert. Visit an ancient eyeliner mine and learn about its historical importance. After that, meet local nomads in their handmade tents, where you will get an opportunity to get acquainted with their unique culture while sipping traditional Berber tea. You'll then drive to Khamlia village, renowned for its lively Gnaoua music. You will have the chance to hear this music played live and learn the history of this village-most of its inhabitants come from countries of sub-Saharan Africa. After lunch is served in a local restaurant, take a relaxed walk among the beautiful palm grove up to Merzouga Lake, a seasonal wetland that provides home to hundreds of flamingos. In the afternoon, take camels to an incomparable adventure across the golden sand dunes of Erg Chebbi. Climb a high dune and enjoy an exceptional sunset, that will give just the right touch to make your photos unforgettable. Early rise to watch the sunrise over the dunes and breakfast. Get back on the camels for the return to Merzouga. The departure toward Fes will include an en-route stop at Rissani, which is the ancient capital of Tafilalet. It is visited for the very lively Rissani souk, where locals still trade in spices, textiles, and crafts. This is where you'll get thrown right into a very busy atmosphere. Continue to Volubilis, the ruins of this Roman town, where you will be able to walk and explore the partly excavated remains of this Roman city-with its mosaics and grand buildings. Have lunch in a nearby town, then drive to Fes. Upon arriving at Fes, check-in to your hotel and take some time to relax. For dinner, head to a typical Moroccan restaurant specializing in the unique flavors of Fassi cuisine. Overnight in Fes.
Today will be spent exploring ancient history and cultural richness in Fes. After having breakfast, start your guided tour in the Fes el-Bali medina-a UNESCO World Heritage site. Among others, visit the Bou Inania Madrasa-an architectural masterpiece of tile work and wood carvings. Continue to world-renowned Al Quaraouiyine University, said to be the world's oldest existing, continually active institution of higher learning. Wander through lively souks where artisans work on leather goods, pottery, and textiles. Visit the famous tannery, showing the ancient process of leather production with the characteristic smells. Lunch at leisure in a local restaurant. Sample some Fassi specialties. The afternoon will be taken up by the visits to the Mellah, Jewish quarter, and the Royal Palace. Return to your hotel for a relaxing night or take off for night-life and the ever-lively city of Fes.
After breakfast, drive towards the famous blue city of Chefchaouen situated in the heart of the Rif Mountains. While driving, enjoy the changing landscape and really vibrant scenery. In the afternoon, arrive at Chefchaouen and check into the hotel; take a little time to freshen up. Take your time to wander the quaint streets lined by the blue-washed buildings. Stop at the Kasbah, which holds a museum of the region's history. Ponder the breathtaking view at Ras Elma: the city is beautifully surrounded by nature. Have lunch in a local café and try some typical Moroccan dishes. After lunch, take a soft walk in the markets of this town where one can shop for handicrafts, textiles, and local souvenirs. After breakfast, the driver will drive you to Rabat, the capital of Morocco. Upon arrival at Rabat, you will see the Hassan Tower and the Mausoleum of Mohammed V; you can't imagine such an outstanding architecture of these monuments. Kasbah of the Oudayas is also on your list today: you will like its narrow blue-and-white-painted streets and enjoy the Atlantic Ocean views. Have lunch at a local restaurant before continuing to Casablanca. Upon arrival, Casablanca offers the famous Hassan II Mosque, one of the largest mosques in the world located in a breathtaking open oceanfront spot. If possible, take an easy walk on the Corniche to enjoy the dynamic atmosphere and beautiful view of the sea. Check-in to the hotel upon arrival. From Casablanca, after having an excellent breakfast, go to Marrakech, a city of legendary history and fantastic cultural importance. After checking into your hotel and freshening up, the afternoon is free for you to visit one of the most famous squares in the world, Jemaa el-Fnaa, with its street performers, musicians, and local food stalls.
